Mater Ecclesiae, honoring Fr. Dennis Cooney

This past Saturday, on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, many people gathered to honor Fr. Dennis Cooney who died on Easter Monday of this year. Fr. Cooney was ordained in May 1974. I met him through his secretary, and our dear friend, Ginger Gosling. I was asked to sing the song, "You are a Priest Forever" for Fr. Cooney's 25th, again for his 40th, and one last time this past Saturday.
Fr. Cooney was a former Oblate, and recently pastor of St. Raphael Church in LeHigh Acres, FL for 19 years. He loved Blessed Mother, and was such a beautiful faithful shepherd to God's people. You can hear the song written for priests, "You are a Priest Forever" by clicking on title.
